MID-SIZED SCULPTURES

WOMEN ON ROTARY...

Carousel I and Carousel 2

1980 / 1985

Steel / Plaster  / Graphite

Women on these two steel and stainless steel carousels represent women at the time that the Women’s Liberation movement was in its beginning. Their plaster heads, covered with graphite, are mounted on threaded rods that can be turned by twisting the nut on the top of the rod to change the orientation of the heads to one another. Because of this, the heads can be ‘controlled’ by an outsider.
